What is the Citizen Card?

The Single Citizen Card aims to consolidate all cards related to services provided by the Funchal City Council into a single solution.

This service aims, on the one hand, to bring citizens/businesses closer to public services, and on the other hand, to allow for faster, more dynamic and digital interaction, resulting in more efficient and rigorous management of municipal services.

Local commerce

With the Citizen Card, you can enjoy exclusive discounts and accumulate loyalty points at participating businesses in the municipality.

Education

The Citizen Card allows households residing in the Municipality, with children and young people attending Basic Education, to benefit from financial support for the purchase of textbooks and school supplies.

Taxi +75

The Taxis +75 program is a social support program for residents aged 75 or older, allowing them to travel in participating taxis with a monthly contribution of €20, provided by the Municipality of Funchal.

Digital marketplace

The digital marketplace will be available as a website and mobile application, and aims to connect a range of businesses and service providers in Funchal through a single channel.

Benefits +55

From the age of 55, all residents with tax residence in the Municipality of Funchal and with an active Municipal Card will automatically benefit from the conditions of the former +55 Card, now integrated into this new platform.

Benefits for Large Families

The benefits afforded to Large Families remain exactly the same as those previously granted through the old Municipal Large Family Card.

+ Local commerce 2026

The Municipality of Funchal, in partnership with ACIF - the Funchal Commercial and Industrial Association, is promoting the 5th edition of the + Local Commerce 2026 initiative.

Municipal Parking Lots

Holders of the Funchal Municipal Card will now benefit from exclusive advantages in the Funchal City Council's parking lots, through the accumulation and use of points earned from purchases made at participating local businesses.

Funchal Alert

Funchal Alerta is a digital platform developed by the Funchal City Council that facilitates the exercise of local citizenship, allowing residents to report incidents and monitor issues related to the municipality more efficiently.

How can I use the Citizen Card and what are the benefits?

To use this service, you must register on the website/mobile application.

After this step you will have access to a virtual account (wallet) that allows you to check your consumption history, convert points into vouchers for discounts on municipal services, digitize your physical card and upload invoices made at the various stores available in the program, as well as consult useful municipal information, such as news and events.
